Straumur operates a charitable programme through which it sponsors a number of community activities, especially in education.

In May 2007, we were corporate sponsors of Kvika, a major exhibition of Icelandic design and part of the Reykjavík Arts Festival.

We are also sponsors of the Dean’s List programme at Reykjavik University School of Business, providing subsidised university education, and the Vígdís Finnbogadóttir Institute of Foreign Languages at the University of Iceland.

In Finland, eQ Bank makes an annual donation to a selected charity each year. In 2007 the recipient was Lastentautien Tutkimussäätiö (Foundation for Paediatric Research).

Charitable donations

Straumur’s Finnish subsidiary, eQ Bank, makes an annual donation to a selected charity. In 2007, a donation was made to the Lastentautien Tutkimussäätiö (Foundation for Paediatric Research), which researches children’s health and development, as well as finding out the affecting factors and causes of diseases.
