Information on Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf. (Straumur) financingStraumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf. confirms that it has today closed bank financing of €133 million. This financing improves the Bank's liquidity horizon and enables it to meet the repayment of its €200million 2005 syndication which matures on 9 December. This new funding matures on 15 May 2009. Straumur is confident that it is now in a position to continue to meet all its future financial obligations as they fall due.

Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank results for the first nine months of 2008 and October 2008Due to developments in global and Icelandic financial markets since the start of October 2008, Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank ("Straumur" or the "Bank") is additionally reporting its results for October 2008 and its financial position as of 31 October 2008 as part of its Q3 2008 result announcement. This is consistent with Straumur's policy to be as transparent as possible by disclosing any relevant information to its shareholders and creditors.

Straumur acquires "Teathers" name and is recruiting up to 80Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf. ("Straumur") has reached an agreement with the administrators of UK securities and advisory firm Teathers Limited (in administration) ("Teathers") to acquire the rights to the name of "Teathers" and other assets relating to the successful operation of its business. Furthermore, Straumur is recruiting up to 80 of Teathers' employees.

Acquisitions from Landsbanki cancelledAs announced on 1 October 2008, Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf. (Straumur) and Landsbanki Islands hf. (Landsbanki) signed an agreement whereby Straumur acquired, subject to the approval of relevant regulatory and competition authorities, the majority of Landsbanki's overseas corporate finance and brokerage platforms for a consideration of €380m. The agreement applied to 100% of Landsbanki Securities (UK) Limited and Landsbanki Kepler, as well as Landsbanki's 84% stake in Merrion Landsbanki.

("XL", "the Company"), a substantial UK airline and travel business, has gone into Administration. Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank hf. ("Straumur", "the Bank") has had a good lending relationship with XL for a number of years and deeply regrets this recent development.
